Job Seeking [Get two offers From two Companies]

In this morning, I got a call from the Amercian Company which interviewed me last week. The call said I should come to their company at 9:30 AM next monday and have a meeting with G.manager who is an American and she will give the offter to me. By now, I got two offers from two companis, one is a American company and another is a French company. So, I must make the decision which company I should join.

The American company is a company produced display scoreboard, They just established the factroy in SHANGHAI and now are extending the department and manufaturing facibilities. As a purchasing manager having much experience in localization within electrical indusries is very welcame to this company. But this company is not so big and global thant the other company. Altough, This company is the public traded in NASDAQ, and the world leader in the scoreboard industry, The company is not so known by others. becasue their products is not used in the family.

In opposition to The american company, The French company is very well-known by others. It's the international company listed in FORTUNE 500, and have many facibilities in China, I will be responsibile for purchasing for 16 facibilities.

As the beginning of the facibilities within SHANGHAI, There are many works to do in the American Company and it will good for me to stress my competences in estabilshing a purchasing department and purchasing procedures. But in the case of the French company, it's not easy to establish or do something new, becasue many of procedures or tasks already are settled and the job will be less creative.

So, it's an affliction to me that how I should make the decision. -_-

This afternoon, I got a call from the head hunter company which indroduced me to that French Company. The consultant who is responsible for me said the G.Manager and HR manager in that French Company satisfied with the interview and they will make the final decision after G.Manager comes back SHANGHAI next week. she also said it's almost O.K and just waiting the final approval by G.Manager. So, it means I almost get my job in the French company !!! Hereon, I would like to say thank you to them who help me to cover the difficulty in interview. HUGO and others .... it's you encouraged me to go ahead... Today is the milestone in my career, Today I step upward to my dream. I can start my next 5 years plan from now...

Job Seeking[Interview by a French Company]

Today, I got up very earlier than other days, because I have a very important interview at 10:30. After the breakfast, I reviewed my english resume again and checked the website of that company. I took the english resume and other papers which can prove my qualification or competence, I left home at 8:30 and arrived that company at 10:10. because this company was located in PUDONG, I must transfer the underground 2 times to get there. After telling my purpose, The reception gave me a application for job and arranged a meeting room and asked me to fill that form. I think she already called the manager in HR department, because when I accomplished the application, the HR manager walked into the meeting room I sat in. She asked some general question for my work experience. I found her english is very good that almost native. The most impressive question to me is whether I fired my staff for some reason. because, Nobady asked this kind of question to me before. So I feel very interesting, Maybe she wan to know how I managed my staff. After one hour's interview, She said there is another person will interview me more. 5 min later, a French walked into the meeting room, I think he is the G.Manager in this company. and he also asked the question same to the HR manager asked. At last, he asked me whether I have question for him. I asked the company organization, and he explained that very detailly by PPT file. I think this interview is better than before, I performed better than last time. but, there is a point which I concerned that I found the HR manager did not satisfy with my spoken english. also I did not understand the question from HR manager and G.Manager 3 times. I afraid they will not hire me for my poor english. But, I am delight with having some improvements in the long-lasted english interview. I will go ahead and I believe there is a good job waiting for me! =========================================================== At last, for improvement in english, If there are some tenses problems in above article, pls amend it... HUGO, would you help again?

Yesterday – 18.Oct.2007, I was interviewed by an American company ~~which~~ that produced LED display scoreboard in the U.S and ~~had~~ planed to establish a plant in SHANGHAI. ~~There were two HR people took the interview, and they asked me some question in english~~. Two person who is in charge of HR department interviewed me in English, I didn't ~~feel~~ think their English is good. ~~Also~~ but I was too nervous to ~~fully~~ explain my work experience very well. I ~~will~~ put some their questions ~~from them~~ on my blog and hope these questions would help someone who is seeking job.

1) What was the most challenge in your last company?

I said the most challenge in my last company was "cost reduction" and I must check the every lot cost which produced in our company. But, as a purchasing manager with more than 4 years experience, I must reply them that the most challenge was how to increase the recognition of management to supply chain management. The management in many companies would like to pay more attention to sales department and R&D department, they often thought that the purchasing department's job would be just to negotiate with suppliers, search new suppliers, etc., that's enough. But more and more people will find they could not get the ~~most~~ competition strength. Because they did not pay attention to how to keep the suppliers providing the products or technology which will help company get the goals.

2) What's your responsibility in your last company?

Although the responsibilities in my last company already listed by on your resume, some interviewers will ask you again just like my interviewer asked me this time, I did not remember what was I listed on the resume, so I did not give them the elaborate explanation about my responsibilities ~~explain so detailly~~. so I suggested those people who are seeking job now to recite the resume before the interview. I have some other questions from the interviewers, but I have no time to write all, I will post later when I finish my job in stock...
